I wore this frothy dress to my Mischief and Mayhem Halloween Soiree last year. Purchased from Anthropologie, it is an ankle length gown and since it was unlined, I wore a satin sheath underneath.
After purchasing a few bags of skulls, I attached them all the way around, where the ruffles began. There were twenty if my memory is correct.
This was a hoot to wear and with even a little movement, the skulls hit against one another resulting in a wonderful clacking noise. Similar to what I imagine real skulls might sound like. Shiver me timbers!
I almost never purchase a regular costume, usually opting to create one, first by buying an evening gown or ballgown, and then adding embellishments, etc. That way, I know that it is one-of-a-kind. Besides, my taste leans toward the more elaborate sometimes.
